Tyrone Crawford '07 attended CCH in the early 2000's and accumulated quite the athletic resume. A multi sport athlete, Tyrone was named both Mr. Basketball and MVP of the WECSSAA Sr. Boys Football Newman conference as a first year senior. Furthermore, Tyrone won a gold medal in OFSAA track and field.
Tyrone went on to play two years at Bakersfield Junior College where he was named first-team all-conference as freshman in 2008. In 2009, he was honoured as a junior college first-team All-American and was named to both first-team all-state and conference. He also was awarded as the defensive's most valuable player for the Renegades. After his stint in JUCO, Tyrone went on to Boise State where as a junior in 2010, appeared in each of the Broncos' 13 games as a back-up defensive end. In 2011, Crawford started in 12 games, and he recorded 44 total tackles (20 solo), including 13.5 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. He was named first team All-Mountain West Conference for his performance. In 2012, Tyrone was drafted in the 3rd round of the NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Tyrone worked his way up the depth chart and is currently the starting defensive tackle for the Cowboys. In 2015, he was signed to a five-year, $45 million contract. Currently, Tyrone gives back to his Windsor community by hosting an annual football camp with his fellow professional football players, both from the USA and right here in Windsor, Ontario!
