Mark McKenzie
I was born and raised right here in Windsor, and I truly believe their isn't a better place to live. I love the people, the history and culture, and all the amazing restaurants and music venues this area has to offer. Ever since I was a child, my dream has been to be on the radio. During my time at CCH, I was lucky enough to help revive the "CCH Radio Club" with the help of Mr. Reynolds. After graduation, I attended Specs Howard School of Media Arts in Southfield, Michigan where I graduated with Honours, and was awarded the "Most Entertaining On-Air Personality" certificate. My dream of being on the radio came true in July 2004 when I was offered my first on-air job in Windsor! I then moved around to different cities across Canada for a couple years, making stops in Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and Charlottetown. I landed back in Windsor in 2007 when I was offered an on-air position with the legendary 89X! I'm pretty much the "go-to" guy at 89X, having done the Mid-Day thing for a few years, as well as Afternoon drive and even filling in with Dave and Chuck "The Freak".
Currently, I'm the host of the "Mark McKenzie Show" which airs Monday through Friday from 7PM - Midnight on 89X! Here are a list of some of Mark's accomplishments in the business. - Best Radio DJ Award from Windsor Independent Magazine (2016) - Yearly MC for March of Dimes "Rock for Dimes" charity event - Panel Host for Easter Seals Telethon - Interviewed numerous bands over the years including Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Rise Against, Nickelback, Panic At The Disco, Imagine Dragons, Awolnation, Taking Back Sunday, Soundgarden, Papa Roach, Staind, 30 Seconds To Mars, City and Colour, Deftones, and more. |
